Mandy's Days 24 and 25.....

I've got a heap of peek-a-boos to show you for days 24 and 25.... and in this part of the post, you will see just a page at a time without the see-through to the next page as the next page hadn't been created at the time of photographing.

 Day 24....
The page has been placed down onto a coloured background (not the best colour!) just so you can see where the acetate is..

Cut this part from a 12x12

Cut a doily unevenly in half and attached it to the back of the paper strip

Again placed on the colour background so you can see the now attached acetate ...

Just below the bottom doily, it was lifted and a santa rub-on was added.  He looked like he was peeking around.  The page was the 24th - with the words 'T'was the Night before Christmas' and the pic is of Hannah asleep in her bed.....

I'm always hesitant with rub-ons... but they do work a treat on acetate being seen from both sides.

Day 25
I've created a few pages for Christmas Day ....weeeeeell, because we did so much and had so many friends and relatives over for breakfast, lunch, and tea!

Found another great strip on a 12x12 (MME) and sliced it off to back the 'T'was theNight before Christmas' strip.  It had this really cool sticky tape and doily affect in it- perfect! And the remainder of the 12x12's used will great for 10x12's etc, so nothing wasted. This side will be fully acetate other than the strip.

Even the rub-on Santa looks great on the reverse side and also perfect for the pic I had in mind

A quiet moment of Hannah with a gift....

The next couple of pages are diecuts, doily adhered onto cut acetate.  The acetate just gives it that little more stability.
The quiet before the rest of the family arrive....

The reverse side... with some of the family and lots of strewn paper and laughs
Hard to see the acetate on the white in the next few pics, but it is there......

This gold doily is also backed with acetate (again hard to see...should have used colour behind it). It does give it stability.  More family members......

The reverse side....  LUNCH!  Outside in the beautiful sun... and lovely light cool breeze...
On the bottom is a little washi tab... these become useful when a heap of acetate pages are closed together....to chose a tab to open the next page.

Last but not least..... the Washer-Uppers!
A tidy kitchen!
This was on the last door of the album, gessoed to quiet the print and the yellow design underneath.
Using a red glitter scalloped strip, adhered it to the edge of the album just to extend it a little more and to finish it off.   I've finished my album this year on the 25th and what better way with the washing up all done! LOL

Soooooo, now to see the pages in their peek-a-boo positions....
with what can be seen behind and through...

Just one last post on this album to come... the finishing touches.. the trimmings etc...
What a lot of fun.  Most definitely the see-through pages have been a challenge, but completely satisfying to accomplish.
 Definitely would tackle that again!

Deb's Inside the Covers...........

I have added more to my December Daily by popping in a couple of pockets inside the front and back covers.

INSIDE the FRONT cover.......
The story of the beginning of the Let's December Daily blog and how it all came about.

and INSIDE the BACK cover...........
a larger pocket where I have stored some special Christmas cards and greetings.

So my December Daily for 2013 is done, the pages are in the covers and in my next post I will share my completed album with the finishing touches added.    I hope you all have enjoyed creating your December Daily albums as much as I have.

Bec's Dec 24th & 25th..................

On the left is the letter our visiting elf, Tinsel left for my kids along with a Christmas Eve box that she left for them.
Those little red 'tabs'.............. when I got them I had no idea what they were, until I wanted to add the letter into the album and be easily accessible without having to pull it out of a pocket.

This is what they look like on the acetate. You can make them out of thick card, add some adhesive and punch out the holes. Which I will be doing this for the next post for adding the Christmas Cards.

Adhering them on the letter:  Plan out which way the letter (or whatever you are attaching them to) is going to be and how far apart the binder rings are to place them in the right spot on the letter. Adhere them by the tip of the tab to the letter like this photo and fold the tab over to attach the other side to the other side of the letter.

Then place the letter in the album using the holes in the tabs.

I hope you've enjoyed my pages and it inspires you to finish your DD albums.

Julie's Days 13 - 18

Day 13
I've used lace to make it look like a curtain pelmet across the top for a homely feel.

Day 14
Here I used some more of the hexagon pieces left over from my Christmas cards.

Day 15
This one would be my favorite card. When trimming down the photo I purposely left the white edge and larger area at the bottom to look like a Polaroid photo.

Day 16
My past December Daily albums on display.

Day 17
A big day - Asher's birthday. This is the little tag booket that I had pre made. You can find the details of how it was put together here.

Page 1 and 2- opened up

The photos out of the pockets.

And some of the journaling on the back of each tag.

Page 3 and 4

The photos out of the pockets.

Last page.

Day 18.
I'm loving the black and white look trend. With just a little swipe of white paint you can get that dirty blackboard look.

Hoot's Adventures

Day 12 of freedom.

Day 13 of freedom.
Under orders from the Misses Hoot's mo had to go. It tickled.

Day 14 of freedom.

Day 15 of freedom.

I have definitely not stuck to my original plan of using the newer papers and embellies. What I have used here is an older Graphic 45 Christmas tag. I have only used the staple on the corner so that the photo can be lifted up to reveal journaling.

Day 16 of freedom.

Deb's Days 23- 26

Well here we are into our brand new year........2014.......Happy New Year everyone.

I'm sharing with you today, my final pages for my December Daily.  Each year I finish my December Daily on Boxing Day the 26th and at the start of this December Daily I had intentions of maybe taking it right through December BUT I have stuck to what I have done in previous years.

DEC 23.......I have found all that Prima packaging I have be stashing away has come in very handy for my December Daily. I was wondering if I would ever use it and I still have plenty left over and thought perhaps I could have done my whole album with it.......hmmm there's a thought for next year. lol.   I've pretty much covered the whole of the background with patterned paper and photos.  Some last minute Christmas shopping, wrapping and popping the pressies under the tree.

DEC 24..........and on the flip side........I took a bit of the colour out of the photos before printing them......still not sure if I like it though.

DEC 25.........I have started the 25th with sort of a title page........I have been just busting to use this little glitter pocket from HERE (thanks Mandy).  I knew I just had to have a pastel one for my December Daily.  I've used a 5x7 plastic sleeve again and sewn it to include the title down the bottom, some side pockets and my little glitter pocket, to which I've added a star and a tie.
and then flip it over.......I've added some of the "confetti" that was sprinkled on the Christmas table into the side pockets.

after that title page comes a small journaling page (more decorated packaging)  to write about our day..........

and  then some Christmas Day photos on the next page...............I love the photo I took of the grandkids kite so decided to use the lovely blue sky space to add a title to the photo before printing it.

I've cut the centre row of small pockets from a 12x12 divided sleeve and sewn them to the page.  If you concertina them up and press along the folds, they will sort of sit reasonably well but do need something to hold them in place. Some lace came in handy to hide the stitching and I found a larger paper clip with a bright flower attached so a lick of paint to make a pastel flower and a bit of sparkle with some stickles and it worked a treat.

Under the plastic pockets I stuck a photo down on the background.  I have photos in both sides of the pockets.

DEC 26..........and with Christmas Day over for another year.........Boxing Day was all about eating the leftovers..........I'm sure if I had continued on past the 26th,  the pages would still be about the leftovers lol.    A negative strip from where I had cut out the circles for my dates came in handy to pop over the photos and frame them.

So I have now completed all my pages for my December Daily 2013.  All that is left for me to do now is put them in my covers and put on some finishing touches which I will share with you later.

How are you going with your December Daily's? ..............We'd love to see them.
