Lizzy Days 21-24

Hullo there! Well Christmas is over & I've got quite a few pages to catch you

up on:)

Day 21:
Today we got a HUGE Christmas basket of goodies delivered.
I immediately ate a YUMMY Fudge cookie.
I wanted to use the card & the cookie pack in my DD.
Here they are:

I backed the heart with some patterned paper,

then created a sort of flip folder with the photo & these
2 pieces of ephemera.

It was not closing too well, so I added a
sticky Velcro fastening to help!
Here it is at each stage of opening.
You can see the Velcro dots below a bit better.

Then the left side opens to reveal
my journaling:

And finally the photo lifts up to see the
note from our family.
I decorated the opposite side:

I must say, I was really pleased with how this
page turned out:)

Day 22:
Nothing tricky on this one. Except I THOUGHT I'd finished
it, then decided to add an extra something!

I have lots of the deer that I've cut on my Brother Scan N Cut,
so added one in here. For no other reason than that I could!
Usual trick of drawing ON my photo!
And the Santa hand was used as if  he was
holding the photo!

I used up some alphabet stickers below, &
once again used a 'V' for an 'A' & the 'Y' was a 'J'. I then added the 'hook'
with a gold pen to create the 'Y'.
The 'Q' is used for the 'O':

Day 23:
 Another 'simple' day. I used a big bell behind the photo,
along with some sequin waste & stapled it together.
Staples are marvellously useful tools!

Can you see what I've added, below? Look on the deer!
I'm really liking the way the number page tabs are working.
I'll do this again :)
And those big stars worked a treat down by the journaling strips:

Day 24
I've noticed the bottom of my book is bulkier than
the top. So on this day, I used layers behind
my photo & popped it on foam up the top of the page to try to
make it more 'even':

Hmmmnnn. It was a lazy day! So out with
my sparkly alphas. Still trying to use 'em up!
 And out with the black marker to outline them again!

My layers consist of WRAPPING PAPER, TISSUE PAPER,
and the silver foil lining from a BUTTER CONTAINER.
No joking!! Pretty cool, huh??!!!!

And I think I'll leave this post here.
Christmas Day deserves space of its own,
since we had 15 here including kidlets!

Jane's Days 22 - 24

Day 22

 Mm, glued the journal card upside down and it won't come off. Glue is so tricky like that, never holds what you want it to, but clings fast when you've made a mistake!

Oh well, best go with it then and cover up the more obvious upside down bits. A gingerbread man and sweeties chipboard does the trick. Also added a stamped and die cut bauble using a paperclip and a trio of brown pearls.

A few mishaps today in real life as well as crafting, but my photo page is focussing on the positives. I added SPEND to cover an unwanted word on the top banner (Katie Pertiet Antibes) and added a flair badge to the end to complete the sentiment.

Day 23

I knew I would have to include this wonderful Uniko wreath stamp somewhere in my album and used it to outline today's number. I used my misit tool to line things up and get a good clear stamping.

I added a small sprig onto the journal card too.  A few stickers and a chipboard elf also found their way onto the page.

Some journalling and more stickers and I was done.

I have several versions of this photo over the years and love how it's always seems as if it's the first time for them. I think one of the most wonderful aspects of a December Daily is tracking the similarities and differences of each year, not to mention the growth of children! The digi elements on today's photo are from ep Merry Little Christmas.

Day 24

Today's focus was always going to be about that special Christmas Eve visitor  and I prepped the page accordingly with a stamped Clearly Besotted elf reading the nice list and added stickers from Simple Stories Mistletoe Kisses.

My journalling about the morning used up all the space on the card, so I decided I'd just have to add some more writing on my main photo page.

Inspired by Deb's inclusion of drawings by her grandchildren I decided to try out once more this idea with my two older grandsons. In the past this has not gone well - boys!!! But today they were being very co-operative and produced some real beauties for me.

 I'd already prepared a square cut from a Hambly transparency with a Wonky Tonk tree stamped with Staz-On timber brown ink. This seemed the ideal opportunity to include it. So photos of the boys  were mounted onto patterned red card and then lined up back to back.

The word stickers were chosen carefully to match up too and then I took a leaf out of Lizzy's book and outlined them in pen.

Deb's Days 20 - 23.

Day 20.

I had a few photos for this day so decided to make a pocket to hold them.   Using red cardstock, a manilla tag and a scrap of green for the pocket, I then stamped stars and water coloured some of them.  Using 4x6 Project Life style cards for the front and back covers, I've made a little book with the photos, punching a hole in the top to tie the ribbon through.   

There are 3 colour photos on 4x6 photo paper, some with 2 and 4 photos on each piece.  A black and white photo was used on the front cover.  The ribbon is then tied to the manilla tag on the pocket so if they fall out they won't get lost.

Day 21.

A double page.  I've put strips of patterned paper along the sides and added a couple of corners.

and because I had quite a few photos again for this day, I cut some cardstock, folded it up and glued the base to the book page.  Added a few embellishments ready for my photos and journalling about the day.

Day 22.

I've used water colour pencils again to colour parts of the angels on the border.  AND tried the water soluble Neo Colours again for the sky and grass.  I was a little more careful with the amount of water this time so it didn't bleed through to the previous page.   A strip of paper was added to the side again and used for journalling and because the side of the book page was stronger I've moved the paper clip from the previous page to the side instead of the top.

 Added in a page after Day 22 with another Christmas carol printed on the cardstock.  I've included a  photo of two paper mache reindeers that I had painted and decorated back in November but thought this might be a good page to show them off.  The reindeers didn't have red noses like Rudolph though. Some more stamped holly added to the corner and red berries cut from a hole punch.

Day 23.

Was done on the back of the added page.  I've covered the cardstock with some patterned paper and some embellishments.  It was "one of those days".

We are getting closer and closer to the end of December.   Not long to go now.

Lizzy Days 19-20

I've only got a couple of days in this post.
But I've added a little of my scrappy process
for a change!

Day 19

This was a home day. I decided those big bell

die cuts - one I cut up for words previously -

might work on a page after all.

And I remembered to do black & white

today!

Here's the bell & my journaling closer.

I've used the same flower sequins as on the

previous page around its neck.

Applied with Liquid Pearls:

Similarly, I've used the same red glittery stars, too.

Below you can see the photo die cut I was given from a friend.

Simply backed the heart with some silver paper I had.

See the 'to town' words?

They were cut from this PL card.

More stash busting!

I like thinking out of the box!

Here's days 18 and 19 together

- gotta have Wally dog in my DD!

Day 20:
Seems I'm on a "cut them words out that I need & chuck the rest
away" phase at the moment. It's a GREAT way to stash bust!
Here's how I did this for day 20.
I'd been given these post it notes:

Adhered this one to cardstock,
then cut out the 'nice' word which I wanted:

Made it into a 'banner', added some black to the border
et voila! Also, the washi below was recycled from a present,
& I've typed onto the photo with my
Project Life app:

Next, I used this little card. I didn't want the 'Christmas'
word, so cut it away. The 'joy' is a cut from my Brother Scan N Cut
machine. I knew some of the white from the word would still be
visible, & thought this might help cover it up.

Firstly, I cut all the elements out:

Next I thought the words needed to 'pop' more.
So went over all the dots with a white pen.
I added a border as well.
Note the difference to the 'fun' word which hasn't been altered:

I also wanted to add part of this word phrase.
The whole one wouldn't fit on my photo.
So, I choose the 'remember' word:

After cutting down, edging with black then white,
this is what it all looks like:

The 'joy' did its job pretty well!
I hope this makes you think of ways of using YOUR stash too!

Lastly, a little close up of the bottom cluster.
The 'u' & 'n' are actually both a 'u'.
No one would know!!
The 2 little chevron banners worked a treat, too:)
