Lori's Day 3 and 4

With this being my first December Daily, I am discovering pretty quickly what is going to work for me, and what is not, in order to get this album completed in December. Making my own pocket style cards is a little time consuming, but I do enjoy the process, they just may have to be pretty simple!

Day 3 is all about my favorite ornaments. I was hoping to keep each day to a two-page layout, but since my Day 2 wound up being three pages, and I knew I needed more than just one page for Day 3, I decided to do a little something different for Day 3.

I like the idea of different shapes and sizes of pages in my album and not everything being inside a protector. Instead of making a full 6x8 layout, I cut a circle out of two different colors of cardstock, punched out some one inch circles from all of the colors in my album and sandwiched the small circles between the two large circles to make a scalloped edge.

Here is the backside of the circle layout:

I carried the scalloped edge over onto my journaling card to help tie the pages together. Even though it's pretty easy to tell which ornament I'm talking about in my journaling, I went ahead and numbered each photo to correspond with the number on the journaling card.

Day 4 is about our typical Monday. I captured a beautiful sunrise for a great way to start the day, and the rest of the layout is about a shopping trip that I took with my son and granddaughter and the journaling centers around why that can sometimes be a challenge.

I'd better kick it into high gear from here on out! The rest of the month is only going to get busier!

Let us know how you are doing with your December Daily. Just leave a link in the comments and we will check it out!

Tracey's Day 7

What will I do with 7?
I tried to get the large glittery number 7 to work on the same page as the photo....... it did not coordinate well with the photo, so I created a flap.

I really like using photo corners to frame the picture

Washi tape, colour shine drops and gold ink around the edge of the page

"Happy" is a puffy sticker. I added the journalling to the inside of the flap.

I've added a bow and brad to 7.  I'm happy with how the page looks when the flap is closed.

We look forward to seeing your December Daily...

Mandy's Day 3

 Day 3
We been on a cruise therefore the amount I was able to pack to scrap with while away
and keep with my posts here was pretty minimal and the pages fairly basic.
But that's okay because travelling and scrapping can be limited, but its the best
of both worlds :)

And the good ole cruise photos that seemed to be around every corner...
I knew that would help also with getting my days done with already printed photos to purchase

Had a little help with adding a 'Cruise Journaling Kit' which was for sale onboard.
Sure was great to add this to my miniscule stash!

On one of our hop off tours, I managed to pick up this little beauty...
varigated ric rac trim on a little cotton reel.... very handy too!

The other side of the double page spread for the 3rd December...

Some of the cards in the Kit had fabulous glitter embossing on them.
So lovely!
Now that I'm back home, I'm really looking forward to getting back into
mixed media on my pages and caught up!

Also going to spend some time going through the comments here and
seeing some of the links left!

Exciting!

Lori's Day 1 and 2

Since I shared my pre-December pages last time, today I have my Day 1 and Day 2 pages for you. My album is going to be a mix of our daily lives and the stories I want to tell throughout the season. Day 1 is one of those stories.

December 1

It never fails - when the holidays roll around someone always catches a bug. The last couple of years it's been my granddaughter. Thankfully her "bug" didn't last long and she was feeling better in no time at all.

My numbers this year are pretty simple. I had a clear sticker book with these circle numbers in it, and I am just adding them to the scalloped circle die cuts that I cut out in November.

December 2

My granddaughter's birthday is November 30th so her birthday party is always the first weekend in December and that is what I am documenting for today.

The presents die cut is from the Holly Jolly collection and I thought it would work for this layout. I typed up and printed out some birthday phrases on my computer and added them to the a couple of the photos.

After the birthday party, my daughter and her family wanted to come over for a while and play games - one of our favorite activities during the holidays. I love it when our kids want to come and spend time with us!

This is not exactly the photo that I am going to use on this layout...I have one that shows all of us that were playing games, BUT, I was adding a title directly to the photo and one of the letters went astray and there was no getting it off without destroying the photo! I wanted to go ahead and show you the rest of my Day 2 pages so I've substituted it with this one, but I will get that photo reprinted and you will be able to see this finished page in my next post.

Tracey Day 2,3,4,5,6

I am finding the hardest part of creating this December Daily is what photos do I use and how many? I've been spending lots of time in my craft space Christmas creating.... the next few days is about that.
On this first page I have covered a  tag with washi tape. 'Oh Christmas tree' is die cut on my cricut.

More Christmas Craft...I really liked the vintage card I made, in the bottom photo so I decided to recreate it as a page.

I stamped a simple Holy leaf on the doily die cut page.

I typed the journalling for Day 5 and added it to the reverse of the doily die cut.

Day 6 - No photos, just a sprinkle of stars and sequins! I made shaker cards today. The stitching detail is a stamp.

Be sure to add your pages in the comments below so we can visit you!

Happy December Dailying !

Mandy's Day 2

Time for day 2, and this time I'm trying some
metalic rubons on the black cardstock

I'm travelling at the moment, so picked up this metalic rubon palette which was easy to pack with my LDD art journal and bits and pieces.
Its called 'Luster Rubons'  which highlights pretty much anything.

Photographing black is not easy - so apologies.
I've placed the two photos down and judged pretty much where the outline is
and just used my finger to rub the bronze colour on the background.

Diecutting some bits before I left on holiday was a great idea...

So put together a couple of clusters of embellishments on this page
 including making the little bauble,
its just free hand drawn and cut out with a little black bow
And I just LOVE Cardinal birds....

And added a couple of red sequins for berries on the holly vine

Added some little star sequins and some freehand squiggly lines for my
journalling using my favourite white pen (jellyroll 08)
The number is diecut in white glitter paper.

All set to try get a couple of pages done yet!

Lori's Pre-December Pages

Hello, everyone! I am so excited to get this month started! Today I have my cover page and my first few pages to share with you. I would say I have my Day 1 pages, but since we always put our tree up on the weekend of Thanksgiving, well, we will just call these my pre-December pages!

Here is my title page. Nothing fancy here. I just added the year and a little embellishment that I made.

On the back side of my title page, I will put my reasons why I am doing December Daily this year. I will either make a pocket page to slip my journaling into or maybe I'll do a list style page for my reasons why.

I've kept my pages pretty simple. I try not to add a lot of bulk to the cards/photos because I know this album will be very full by the end of the month!

I like the idea of having a few photos enlarged and outside of a page protector. I wanted to keep the photo of our fully decorated tree a full 4x6, so I matted it to a piece of patterned paper and added it directly to the album.

So, how are things coming with your December Daily? We would love it if you shared your process with us - just leave a link in the comments!

See you in a few days!

Tracey Day 1

Hello, so happy you stopped by to check out Day 1 of my first ever December Daily. When I decide to do the DD album I knew I had to keep it simple so I would complete it!
I decorate my home the week before Christmas....these first pages show a few decorations and me up a ladder putting the star on top of the tree.

Day 1
The photos will add the colour to my DD! My journalling was done on the computer using a type writer style font. I was going to use my type writer....but decided to do it on the computer instead, because of spell check....LOL. You will see a lot of stamping and washi tape through the album.

See you in a few days
Happy December Daily.....ing 🎅

Mandy's Day 1

Welcome December!

Here we go
Day 1!!

So glad I did have my first page sorted with a bit of a paint.

I absolutely adore the (very old but you can still get them) Fancy Pants Glitter Cuts
(If I see them, I buy them!)

Thought that with my glitter die cut 'believe' that these little vellum stars would be a great touch,
just got to find the right place for them then stick them down

Journalling in white pen (jelly roll 08 is my favourite!)
around the edges of the double page

Now all stuck down

It's a start!

Happy December Daily!

We would love it if you shared your process and December Daily with us.
