Tracey's 2017 December Daily Cover

For My first Ever "December Daily" I have decided to Die cut a lot of the album including the front cover and pages. The album is 8 inches x 6 inches..... I have used cricut Artbooking cartridge to cut these pages for the cover. The white paper is card board, which will add strength...I glued the pattern paper to this.

Using cricut Flower Market cartridge I cut two wreath layers, adding glue to the white layer then covering it in glitter.

I've had this Ginger bread-man stamp for a long time, he is so cute!...it seemed like the perfect choice to coordinate with the baking theme pattern paper. I embossed it, then cut a heart from the pattern paper, a little twine, crochet doily and brad. I die cut the banner then stamped "Merry Christmas" to complete the layers

I sprinkled my favourite tiny heart buttons around the wreath

I have die cut 2 layers for the tag, adding star washi tape for the border. Before I die cut 2017 I covered the white card in Jac paper
 ( double sided adhesive paper)

I pulled off the top layer of jac paper....instant sticker! Then covered it in glitter

I plan on hanging the tag from the rings I use to hold the pages together.

We would love to see your DD ideas...Be sure to link up in the comments below!

Mandy's 2017 December Daily Cover

Weeeell, kind of......
This year I'm using a Dylusions Square Black 8x8 Journal

So when I say 'kind of',
I'm doing the inside front page of the journal instead of the outside covers

Thats because of the included use of mixed media.  I know paint and all sorts of things will inadvertently get stuck on the outside covers while I'm working on it no matter how careful I try to be, so thought it would be best to leave them till the end.  I'm not envisaging that the outside covers  will be over worked....and probably quite plain.

There is quite the underneath 'paint jobs' by accident on this inside cover to get to the
end product and at first I really thought I'd made a mess of it!

My original thought was definitely the doors!
Except... these were not the door I intended to use!

This is how I started out...
Armed with red and green paint - AND my favourite 'door' paper by 7gypies, cut one of the shabby cream and green doors out thinking it was 'perfect'!

On with the red paint, nice and vibrant

Then thought...hmn,  a bit of brick up the side of the door might be nice

Might just add a little green...and roll it on

Ugh.. and the thing turned to mud!

(Was having horrors by this time!)
Back to the drawing board....best solution... paint it over black!
Put some very thin washi tape around it to keep the paint contained
And grabbed a stamp (Tim Holtz) and pressed it hard into the painted layers

BONUS!  What I got was a very subtle print for a background...
YAY!  Couldnt have turned out better nor by bigger accident!
The red and green paint even if just a smidgeon... showed through!!

LOL, THEN I changed my mind on the door!
It just didnt seem to suit any more so cut a little double one from the 7Gypies paper
And cut out the window panes too as I had this vision in my head.......

The vision was Santa passing by the windows in the door....
and a falala diecut in red sparkle crying out with the year added.

Phew... not so bad afterall! LOL!
My heart did sink there for a little moment in the process!
Nothing a slap more paint couldnt fix and a little extra washi tape :)

How are your's going?

Lori's December Daily Kit and Ideas

Hello, everyone! When I first started thinking about my December Daily and what I wanted to include in my kit, I was a little stuck. I am a traditional colors girl through and through. Give me red, green, and white with a little bit of kraft or black thrown in, and maybe a little touch of silver and gold. My problem with only going with these colors is that I plan on documenting not just the holiday and the stories, but a little of our everyday life in December, as well. Our granddaughter will be in the majority of the photos and that means lots of pinks and turquoise, so when I came across the Holly Jolly collection from Bella Blvd in my stash I knew it would be perfect to satisfy my need to have things match! Since the Holly Jolly collection is more on the cutesy side, I also added in the papers from the Advent collection from Illustrated Faith for the days that I wanted something not-so-cutesy.

I will be using the die cut pieces from both collections, and I have pulled some wood pieces, metal embellishments, enamel dots, sequins, and gems, and some baker's twine in colors that match the papers. I'm sure more items will be added along the way.

Since I will be making a lot of the cards and embellishments that will be going into my album, I have included quite a few of the Christmas stamps that I have collected.

I'm pretty sure I know the direction that I want to go in with my album, but I know things can change and I am just going to roll with it!

We would love to see what you create, so be sure to leave a link to your kit in the comments below, and be sure to grab our badge!

Tracey's December Daily Kit ideas

The hardest decision I found putting a kit together for my December Daily was....what papers will I choose? Will I use traditional colours or something else? As I plan on  "stash busting" my DD.......the photo below is where I started, papers everywhere!

Then I fine tuned it to this.......I will be using colour photos, so I have kept the colours very simple. White,  Kraft and Red. The photos and embellishments will add more colour!

Lots of my favourite things!

Lace, pom pom, ribbon , washi tape, tags, stamps, sequins, glitter, colours shine

Can you see the tiny pepper and salt shakers? I have a collection of these for all my glitter....they look so cute all together on a shelf.

Doillies, more sequins, twine, wood veneer

I have kind of a plan in my head........Keep it simple is the main one! Things could change depending on the photos I take each day.

Be sure to link up, we would love to see your ideas.

Mandy's December Daily Kit and Ideas

I cant believe this time of year comes around so quickly!  And nothing is more satisfying than getting out the Christmas stash and start pawing through it!  One thing I did notice while poking around is the amount of mixed media I have - and - not being used!   Last year I had in my mind that I would use a heap... and hardly touched it.   This year, I'm making it a focus.. so must!
I still love a black base, and  still love that pop of colour,
but also need to use more stamps and dies that sit around - also neglected... yes, its time!

And, as in the past... there's been this love of 'doors' of mine..
So, stumbled across this stunning 7Gypsies paper.. and oh my!!  Into the cart it went!!!

There's a 'kind-of' plan in my head, but as usual, it can go sideways or lol - even backwards plus the odd  'let's start that again'!

Now the kit is ready...  it really feels like I'm off and running!!

Share your December kits and ideas with us,
leave a link in the comments below.. we'd love to see them!

Lori's December Daily Journey

Hello, hello!
I guess I don't really have much of a December Daily Journey - yet. I have had good intentions of doing a December Daily the past couple of years, and I've gotten as far as making my title page and adding in a few filler cards, and then I let the busyness of the season take over and my album gets pushed to the side. Not this year! I am determined to get my December Daily completed!

I will be creating a 6x8 project life style album. It will showcase a mix of our everyday happenings - along with a few stories/memories/traditions that I would like to share. My style is clean and simple and I like to create my own project life style cards and embellishments. I don't like a lot of bulk in my albums. but you never know what I'll be inspired to add in. Here are a few pictures of my title page and a few of the cards from my album last year - that still needs to be completed.

I cannot wait to get this journey started and to see where it takes me!

Design Team Introductions and Sneak Peeks

Every few days during the month of November, we will share with you our December Daily stories, journey and thoughts.   As with past experience, sometimes when creating covers and pages... weeeeell.... sometimes it might not always work out or on the other hand, works out terrifically!
Yes, we too experience it all!
Below is a little information on each design team member who share a few thoughts as they begin their 2017 December Daily journey and a  little bit of a sneak peek at covers!

There is something wonderful about collecting Christmas themed papers and embellishments together and think of all the possibilities!
And this time... more paints and stencils - stamps and the mind boggles!
This is my eleventh December Daily and feel the hankering for mixed media this time :)
Goodness knows where it will lead, but I'm sure I'll have some messy fun!
Here's a little sneak...

We have some new Design Team Members to welcome :

Hi Everyone, I'm going to create my first ever December Daily! Its something I've often thought about doing but, that is as far as it got. I'm really excited to be joining the
Lets December Daily team, its going to be fun!
I really enjoy die cutting......My album will be created using my cricut.
Here is a sneak peak of my Die Cut December Daily :)

Hello, everyone! I am so excited to be joining the Let's December Daily team! This will actually be my first December Daily. I have attempted to make a December Daily a couple of times before, but let the busy-ness of the holiday season take over. Not this year! This is the year to get it done.
I will be creating a 6x8 project life style album for this holiday season. I have a pretty clean and simple style and I like to make a lot of my own project life style cards and embellishments so you can expect to see lots of handmade goodness in my album.
I look forward to sharing my process with you!

And also to say a sad farewell to
You can still see their fabulously creative work over in the right side bar
