Mandy's Days 19 - 24

Now that the Christmas rush is over, I've been able to sit down and have a lovely play with my Christmas stash...

DAY 19
This was such  a special day for Paige's graduating from university that there were many photos, so adding a 'card' like structure to the page helped add in quite a few extras.
(A little side-note:  I did make the little graduation hat jar Paige is holding... its filled with mostly $5 notes. The hat took no time to make out of black cardboard and a gold tassel...  she was thrilled to bits!)

This torn out page look stamp spelled 'study' to me lol, so went with it down the side
(its actually a 11 1/2inch stamp)  using some 'Stampendous Shabby White Embossing Enamel', though havent heat set it here yet.

The stuck-in  card  has been layered and stitched around the edges with my sewing machine.
I've used a stencil with some texture paste and a cute little 'graduation' die with glitter paper

Opening the card up.......

...... there is quite a bit of extra space for photos - got to love that!
And a bright bit of washi tape!

DAY 20
This was a simple block design.  I print my photos at home in any measurements and like to have a white border around them especially against the black background. These groups of photos just clicked into place including a journaling block.  Just add stickers (grin)

DAY 21
Again it was a day of wanting to add four photos so went a block-ish design
 to compliment the opposing page.
This time the glitter numbers are in red - the white kind of disappeared into the photos.

I too, like Tracey am trying to use up my rubons.  At last the white ones will be rubbed on to the black background and look good.... my problem.... rubons are not my friend!
I struggle - you can see where I've rubbed and rubbed to get the jolly things to stick!

DAY 22
More rubons used!

DAY 23
I've been excited to use a gorgeous Penny Black stamp for this page...
(I'm no great stamper or embosser - but love to have a go and even experiment)

Hmmmm,   I'm not sure about this... Stampendous Shabby Green... weeeeell....
I can honestly say.. there isnt much if any 'green' in it!  It didnt look a whole lot different to my 'Shabby White'!  Never mind because........

........out with the smooch colours
(sundance, siren, moccha)
I've tried a million ways to photograph this close up so you can see the beautiful sheen Smooch produce, but to no avail... my camera just wont pick it up.  It doesnt do it justice.

DAY 24
A double page for the 24th...
probably more in anticipation for Christmas Day!
I think there is a couple of key fun parts of creating these pages.....
Love to use the Lustre Rubs for shading....

First was a peek-through star... by cutting a hole into the page.
Even though there is nothing on page underneath (for the 25th yet)
I'll plan so something makes sense peeps through

This is on the reverse side - also yet to be created
I tried to centre the photo from the 24th to show something of faces peeking through

Next is another stamp I just love - because its such a favourite verse.
And how much do I love my stamp press!!
Weeell it makes a not so great stamper into a much better one!

And another learning experience....
How gorgeous are these Graphic 45 Nutcracker Sweet stamps!
I thought why not use the VersaCraft ink - well known for stamping of fabric and the like...
only because I got such a white imprint!  Looks great.... but took a little while to dry.

but then they dried a dull grey....

Nothing that couldnt be fixed by some more Smooch colouring
and my white Jellyroll 08 pen to outline

Weeeell, that gets me up to creating Christmas Day next!
Exciting!

Lori's Day 13-17

Day 13
Since Day 12 was on this cute little bag, and Day 13 didn't have a lot going on, I decided to put Day 13 on the back side of the bag. This was the day that we started receiving Christmas cards.

Day 14
This is the day that we went and picked up my oldest son from college for Christmas break. As we were leaving, the sun was just starting to peek over the treeline, it was a bit cloudy, and it was breathtaking! The photo does not do it justice! I also remembered to take a photo of my son's dorm and him, too!

Here are the two pages together:

Day 15
This page was kept very simple. The photos were pretty busy, and too be honest, I am running out of time here! I tried to add an embellishment or two to the 6x4 photo, but I didn't really want to cover up my granddaughter's work, either! She had spent the better part of the day making "gift cards" using my scrappy supplies. She took the majority of them home to her Mommy, but I do have one that I will add directly to my album when I can find what I did with it! I think it will be fun to look back at her artwork when she was 4!

Day 16
 - is documenting all of the Christmas cards that I made this year. My goal was to have all of my cards made before the holiday season rolled around, so I started making them in January. By December I had 70+ made - more than enough! Sadly, I waited too long and didn't get the majority of them mailed out anyway so I will have a good head start for next year!

Here are Days 15 and 16 together:

Day 17
I love this photo of our tree - it may be my favorite of the season! I love the early morning hours when everyone else is still asleep and the house is quiet. I was sitting by the tree, thinking about the upcoming week, when I looked over at the tree and was just mesmerized by it. The ornaments lit up by the twinkling lights...just so pretty and just what I needed for this last week before the big day!

The rest of Day 17 was pretty uneventful. We did get some much-needed rain - it had been over a month - so I snapped a photo of it dripping from the trees.

Here is a look at both sides of Day 17:

We are getting closer and closer to the end of the month, and my pages are becoming simpler each time - which is all right with me! When my family looks at this album in years to come, the stories are what will be the most important things!  My album is very full and I still have at least 8 days to go! I'm hoping to keep it all in one, but we will see!

Tracey's Day 22 and 23

Day 22 (Friday) I spent the day in the kitchen baking and icing the cookies I made on Day 21. I played around with the editing program  on windows 10 and added text on my photo. I chose striped pattern paper to coordinate with the table runner in the photo.  A spash of  gold colour shine , a doily and a sprinkle of sequins.

Day 23 - City lights.....I'm really trying hard to use up a huge collection to rubons. Santa and sleigh, numbers and verse are all rubons. When I have more time I plan to go back and add detailed journalling on a tag or maybe in an envelope ?  Or maybe I won't! Somedays don't need a lot of words....the picture says it all! Cheer and Happy Holidays were cut from a 12 x12 piece of paper.

This year has flown by.....I can't believe it will soon be 2018.

Mandy's Day 18

 DAY 18

Just one day scrapped for over Christmas is so busy.
To get a moment to scrap was almost impossible.
And again I'm travelling and scrapping away with a little kit.
I'll be home in another day, and all will be settled and 'aaaaah' peaceful time for scrapping!!

The good thing for this page is that its very Christmassy to scrap over the Christmas break even though its only18th. So that felt good (big smile). You know when you are finished decorating and everything is 'just so'...and a photo is taken....  This year we decided to make the main focus in our sitting room and not the main loungeroom and it was lovely.

The easy to pack 'Lustre Rub-ons'  are great when on the road as it can easy add colour to the page
Diecut in glitter paper (though hard to tell from these pics)

And tried to create a kind of mantel for the pic too....

Lori's Days 9-12

I'm still keeping with the quick and simple pages here to try to get caught up. I was able to get a couple more pages done this time around, but not as many as I would have liked.

Day 9 - for this page I used a journaling card and filler card that I had made in November that fit this day perfectly. It's not often that I come home from a shopping trip in a better mood than I when I left, but this day was an exception!

Day 10 is documenting mine and my husband's views on Christmas music being played on some radio stations all the time after Thanksgiving - he loves it, me, not so much! The one thing that we do agree on is the songs that we like. I have also included both of our Top 5 favorite Christmas songs.

Here are the two pages together in my album:

Day 11 is documenting me and my granddaughter making cookies - we're trying to get in a lot of practice for the big day! I wanted to include all of these cute photos of her mixing up the cookies and I kept the journaling card pretty simple. I think this is one of my favorites!

Day 12 was a rough day around our house and I debated on whether or not to include it, but this is what our life looks like right now, so we're keepin' it real! I have a lot of personal thoughts and feelings in the journaling, so I decided to use this bag that I had received and tuck my journaling in it. Since this was the only photo that I have from that day including the photo on the bag worked out perfectly.

Here is Day 11 and 12 in my album:

Tracey's page - 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21

Keeping up December Dailying sure is a work out! Keeping it simple was definitely a good plan!

Day 15 - Loved this photo of our dog Jett...he had been digging, covered in dirt, he looked so cute. I thought he'd look even cuter with a Santa hat on! I used Joys of the Season cricut cartridge to die cut the hat...I added glitter to the pom pom and trim. I stamped a few paw prints on the adjoining page...I made a mistake with the date, so I crossed it out and stamped it again. I'm using gold colour shine to add drops to each page though out the book.

Day 16 - I had fun with this page. I created a title with the sweet little Deer. "OH DEER I forgot to take a photo today"! I used my cricut to die cut the Deer and letters. I used black ink to stamp the design on H and D.

Day 17 - I spent the day making Shaker Style Christmas cards...JOY was left over so I added here. I used my cricut again to die cut JOY. I added the jounalling to the adjoining page. "Note to Self" start making Christmas cards earlier next year!! This page is half a heart.

Love this die cut heart page in the center of my December Daily. How cute are the tiny ginger bread boy and girl! I stamped them with versamark  ink , then embossed them with white embossing powder, then I die cut them out.

Day 18 - Journalling on the back of Heart. Today I had a Christmas lunch with friends...I wanted to include a few photos , so I created a flap with the 4 x 6 photo. The holly is stamped on water colour paper, I've added a few gems for the berries. I also like using washi tape.

The flap holds two more photos, I've used washi tape and a few Christmas stickers. "Merry Everything" Yep thats me with the reindeer ears and glasses....looking very Christmasy!

Day 18 - Super simple page...I layered strips of pattern paper above and below the photo. A selfie taken in the pool to document my first swim of the season! " Merry" is a left over from my shaker card production! I added a few rubons and a strip of washi tape to the edge.

Day 20 - "Im Beginning to look a lot like Christmas"
Me..playing with my new lazer lights. I covered the background with rubons, punched stars, sequins and ink splatters.

Day 21 - I spent the whole day baking cookies. I printed this photo out as a whole page.

How is your album coming along...be sure to add a link in the coments.
