Deb's Days 24 & 25.........

Day 24.
Typed strip journalling was added to the top flap and a banner placed across the top of the base page.

Top page lifts up - added a little gesso to the underside of the flip up piece and made a Christmas tree from some bits that were on my scrap table (I think it looks a little more like a cake than a tree lol) with stickers underneath the tree.  Flap opens up to reveal photo of wrapped presents matted on a piece of the wrapping paper I used this year.  The little owl is also cut from some wrapping as well.

Day 25.

Some stamping over the page with white gesso and added 3 coloured rectangles of paper from a smaller page from the album and  attached them with washi tape to open and close.
Photos were glued to the base page, journalling under the flip up piece and some little pom poms attached to the bottom of the photo to peek out under the flaps.  Some stickers on the top of the flaps finished them off.

Making room for more Christmas Day photos.......using 2 pages from the album and a 5 x 7 plastic sleeve, I've aligned them so that the flap from the bottom page will still flap over the top of the added pages.   That meant that the photo sleeve and black and white striped page had to sit out from the base page a bit.......

and then after stapling together it had to be trimmed so that I could get the binding onto a straight edge.

Glued on one of my pre made bindings to form a type of a little book.

The front was decorated with 2 squares of canvas paper with glitter added and then the snowflake cut out placed just under the window on the base page.   Santa sticker on the bottom square and washi tape for decoration.

Opened out - Under the top page, I glued in a 4x6 journalling card decorated with some washi tape and a couple of tags.

I made 2 photo collages of our Christmas day photos and printed them onto two 4 x 6 pieces of photo paper which was a little small for the plastic sleeve so using some of the canvas paper I used that as a matt to fill the now slightly smaller 5 x 7 photo sleeve.

Mandy's Days 23 - 24

 photo 5771ac68-11d3-4a7a-9dea-6a8da6e02d44.jpg

 Day 23
You know how you get close to Christmas day and there are still many thing to do or on your mind, and I guess for us December Daily-ers, its about capturing what goes on at home - and sometimes its a lot all in one day.... so this was the day for me, with the wrapping of presents (yes finally), displaying my December Daily's (yes, I always try to, love how they look together), what the girls were up to, and out in the garden (do try to get some photos of what flowers are out at this time of year too)  So here I wanted to put a token of each in photographs.

This was another transparency page... a gold diagonal stripe.
I've got really quick at running these pages up ready for use now :)

And I really love 'Viva Inka Gold' and edged the outlines of each photo and their little
black mats plus the outline of the actual full transparency
(after it had been edged with black stazon ink)

 Pretty stuff isnt it!

I've matched the size and placement of the photos on the front  to the ones that will be going on the reverse of the page for 'Day 24' , also with the journaling block which I had two, so they matched.

 Day 24
Oh boy this was fun!   I love to use 'jibjab' an ecard site to send out a funny little family animation of my family... so with this page, I grabbed screenshots to remember this ecard by.  All set out in the six squares matching the 23rd page.....

but there were so many fun ones I couldnt leave out,

I had to make the top photos into pockets!

and this funny cute cut-out because in the ecard,
one family member slipped off the roof!

It's great to have some fun with pages!

I hope your December Daily's are getting close to the finish line now!

Jane's Days 19, 20, 21 & 22

Day 19

A straightforward following my pattern album page. I added glitter to both the number card and the journal card - glitter seems to be happening more as Christmas gets closer

 Day 20

I added a pocket page to contain all the present receipts. I started with 3 patterned papers and 1 piece of black card all sized to fit my album.

I cut the black card and one piece of patterned paper diagonally and rounded all the corners.

I glued them together to strengthen and stiffen the patterned paper.

I put washi tape along the diagonal edge and folded it over to make a sealed edge for the pocket top. This was repeated with the other two halves to make a second pocket.

The other two pieces of patterned paper were glued back to back and then the pockets were added using strong doubled sided tape.

I added an embellishment cluster to the bottom of each pocket.

I attached two paperclips to each pocket top to make it easier to to slip in the contents.

Day 21

I took a photograph of a letter from one of my grandsons for the page pocket and then tied the original with golden ribbon, added a tag and slipped it into the pocket on the back of day 20's insert.

Oh and in case you've spotted the ribbon ties on the pocket insert they were added as I punched the holes on the wrong side and wanted to make it look deliberate - hush don't tell!

Day 22

Another quick and simple page focussing on the oldest and newest tree ornaments.

I hope your December Daily's are well on their way!

Bec's Days 17, 18, 19 & 20.....................

Day 17...............
Photos backed onto black card again. Tiny alphas to label the subjects in the photos and some words and Christmas quotes cut from the papers I have.

 Day 18.............
I documented the food I bought for our Christmas Day.

I made a little pocket to store the receipt for it. Will be interesting to see in years to come the price difference from todays shop.

I also documented the activities and tasks for the lead up to our Christmas. Making gingerbread houses and preparing strawberries.

 Day 19.............
This is our Christmas Day. A week early due to my brother going overseas for Christmas.

I had so many photos from our Christmas, as you do, and I like to put in most of them, whether they are good or bad photos.
So I used a piece of Kraft A4 card and trimmed it just slightly.

I added a strip of washi tape down the left edge of it and lined it up on the page. I then folded the washi tape over and joined this page to the page in the book, so it folds over.

I opened it up and ran another strip of washi tape down the join to strength as it will be opened and closed.

This is the previous page where I joined it to.

And this is the cover of the folded page.
Very simple with some stamping and a doily because inside is sooooooo busy.

This is the folded page opened and the two page spread. Very simple stamping again for the background. And some tiny alphas to describe what is happening.

I also documented what was happening in the local area at the time.

This is the other side of the folded pages which I kept as the final page for this day by using the group photo as the final photo.

Inside the right hand side folded page. Using polaroid photos from my Instax camera was great as there is a white blank space at the bottom to write on. That is where I documented who was in the photos.

Day 20....................
Love the photo corners. Still using my large black numbers I just mounted the photos in photo corners. I journalled using my handwriting straight on to the page and used some Thickers for the subject of the day. There is a little stamping using Christmas words and words that describe the day.

I hope your December Daily's are well on their way!
