Jane's Page Preparations

Page Preparations

Now my album cover and title page are all completed I've started to prepare bits and pieces for the inside. As last year I decided to get the basics of my journalling cards done digitally and used Katie Pertiet Jolly Good Edgers along the bottom of each card.

These have all been cut to 3"x4", the corners rounded and inserted randomly throughout my album. I will go back to them in December to add more decorations.  These are just two of the many different designs that will be popping up through December.

The next part of preparation for my album was cutting and placing all the papers that I will use to number my pages. Like the journal cards they will have extra decorations added to them in December. I cut thirty one 3"x 4" papers and rounded the corners. These were all placed in the page protectors, again quite randomly - it's so easy to move them around later on if needed.

I then punched thirty one 1" circles from quality white paper and the same number of 1.5" circles from gold mirri card. I stamped the numbers 1 to 31 using Uniko Classic Numbers and matted the white paper onto the gold mirri card. These were then slipped into the pockets with the papers and I also added a few other bits and pieces from my stash which I may or may not use.

I always like to have a planner page - well you'd expect that from me wouldn't you - and this year I decided to create my own. I got a bit creative with my digital supplies, but in previous years I've just used patterned paper, a pen and a ruler to draw a grid.

The planner slots into the page protector behind the title page, so it's right at the front and easy to add things to and check out what's going on. I find I use previous year's planners to see when I did things like buying the tree or sending out cards - helps to stave off those I'll never get it all done type feelings that threaten to overwhelm me when things all start happening at once.

The very last thing I've prepared is a simple chart using Microsoft Word to keep a track on the weather throughout December. I'm not sure why I started doing this, but it's now become a tradition and I would feel something was missing if I left it out.  Well you know we Brits are obsessed with the weather! And it is a bit of fun to compare the really cold temperatures, winds or occasional snow or sunshine with the same dates from previous years.

So how are your preparations coming along?

I'm thinking if you've decided to play along with us at Let's December Daily that's the most important decision done and the rest will just fall into place as we go on this journey together.

I can't believe that my next post will be sharing the first page(s) of my gorgeous golden 2015 album with you. See you soon!
