I've been having a play trying to make some little pastel coloured embellishments for my December Daily with some Christmas trees - super easy.
So starting with a scrap of cardstock about 2" high, glue four strips of scrap patterned paper (I gave each of them an edge with the pinking shears first) starting from the bottom and working up to the top.
To form the triangles, cut from bottom to a point at the top. I wasn't too particular, because if the sides weren't equal then that's how I ended up with some smaller trees by trimming up the sides to make them even. lol
There were some upside down triangles left over as well which will make a
great banner somewhere down the track on another project.
Then by adding a little trunk, I now have some cute little trees to use as singles or grouped together for my pages.
Now to make a Christmas tree banner. I've seen these super cute trees made from strips and I love to look of them, so had a little play and made a banner/bunting. I found them a bit fiddly at first to make as mine are quite small. I cut the "trunks" about 2" long and then folded them over, so finished they are only 1" and just 1/4" wide. The rectangles for the trees are 1/2", 3/4" and 1" - so all pretty tiny.
With the folded over trunk pieces I popped them over the twine and glued together.
Then I just started gluing on the branches - smallest at the top and finished each tree off with a little pearl at the top.
These were fun easy little tree embellies and are now ready to decorate some pages when I start my December Daily.
We'd love to see any preparations you have been doing for your December Daily album.......not long now until Dec 1st.
And don't forget to add your past or present December Daily albums so we can have a peek.
